There was a crash on I-80 near Minooka early Sunday morning (January 29, 2017) involving a car traveling in the wrong direction.
According to the Illinois State Police (ISP), this “wrong-way driver” crash happened as the driver of a 2003 Ford Focus was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-80. At 3:07 a.m., the car crashed “head-on” with a semi truck about two miles east of Ridge Road.
The driver of the car was critically injured during the crash, and was flown to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove for medical treatment of her accident injuries.
The driver of the semi truck was not injured during the crash.

Breanna Simmons, 27, was charged with DUI and improper lane usage, according to Illinois State Police.
