There was a car accident on Chicago’s Lake Shore Drive early this morning involving a wrong-way driver.
According to police, at approximately 2:00 a.m. a red Nissan was driving northbound at a high rate of speed in Lake Shore Drive’s southbound lanes, and it collided with a Toyota Corolla at Roosevelt Road.
After this collision, the Nissan also hit a van.
Firefighters had to extricate the female driver of the Nissan and her male passenger by cutting the roof off of the car. They, as well as the driver of the Corolla, were taken to Northwestern Hospital.
The driver of the van refused medical treatment.
It is unclear how far the driver of the Nissan had traveled the wrong-way on Lake Shore Drive before the collisions.
