There was a fatal pedestrian accident Monday afternoon (August 22, 2016) on the Far North Side of Chicago.

According to Chicago Police, the accident happened at approximately 4:45 p.m. At that time, a pedestrian who was crossing Peterson at North Central Park Avenue was struck by a UPS driver who was making a right turn on red at the time of the accident.
The pedestrian, identified as a 78-year-old woman, was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital for treatment of her accident injuries. She later died.
