A woman was run over by a Chicago Police vehicle Wednesday (November 13, 2019) evening in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood. The accident is discussed in a variety of media sources, including the November 13, 2019 Chicago Sun-Times article titled “Chicago police vehicle hits woman in South Shore” as well as the November 14 abc7chicago.com article (with video) titled “Woman struck, critically injured by Chicago police squad car in South Shore.”
Although the accident remains under investigation, it is being reported that before the accident the woman was speaking with the occupants of the vehicle. As the vehicle pulled away, the woman’s right leg became stuck under the passenger side tire. The woman then fell back and hit her head.
The woman was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. According to police, she had injuries to her right leg and head. The abc7chicago.com article reported that the head injuries included bleeding on the brain.
