Two Recent Pedestrian Accidents

Recently, there have been pedestrian accidents in Cook County that have included one in downtown Chicago and one in Niles.

Details on each accident appear limited at this time.

The earlier accident happened in Niles on Monday evening (December 21, 2015) which happened sometime before 5:30 p.m.  The accident happened in the 7000 block of West Dempster Street, and involved a car striking a pedestrian.  Injury information is not presently available concerning this crash, which is discussed in various media sources including the December 21, 2015 Chicago Tribune article titled “Police say vehicle strikes pedestrian in Niles.”

The latter accident happened in downtown Chicago on December 27, 2015.  An excerpt from the December 27, 2015 Chicago Tribune article titled “Pedestrian struck by car, critically injured downtown“:

At about 12:30 a.m., the pedestrian was hit by a car in the 300 block of East Wacker Drive and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, according to Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Walter Schroeder.

Media sources don’t indicate which parties were determined to be at fault in either of these pedestrian accidents.
