There was a three-vehicle on Illinois Route 47 near Yorkville early Friday morning (December 27, 2013) in which two drivers were injured.
The vehicle accident, involving a semi and two pickup trucks, happened at approximately 7:14 a.m. near Illinois Route 47 and Walker Road. Dense fog may have played a role in the vehicle accident.
The Illinois State Police (ISP) say the accident happened when a semi truck “t-boned” an eastbound pickup truck. After this initial collision, the pickup truck then struck another pickup truck.
According to the ISP, the truck driver was uninjured, and the two other drivers were taken to hospitals. One driver was reported to have serious injuries while the other driver had non-life-threatening injuries.
This vehicle accident remains under investigation.
