A Stevenson Expressway (I-55) wrong-way driver accident occurred early Friday (August 20, 2021) morning. This Stevenson Expressway wrong-way driver collision led to the deaths of three people. All three people died at the accident scene. The crash involved a car and a SUV in the outbound lanes of I-55 near Cicero Avenue. Illinois State Police went to the accident scene at about 12:35 a.m.

Police said a man was driving southbound in his Toyota SUV when he crashed into a Hyundai sedan with two women inside. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two of the victims have been identified to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office as Khalid Jaber, 54, of Oak Lawn and Rella Ellise Norey, 26, of Chicago.
No one else were in the vehicles at the time of the collision.
As seen in the video, damage to the vehicles was extensive.
