There was a multi-vehicle accident Monday afternoon (September 19, 2016) on Interstate 94 (westbound I-94) in Gurnee. According to a preliminary investigation this “chain-reaction” happened after a semi truck didn’t slow fast enough and ran into a car.
According to the Illinois State Police (ISP) the accident happened at approximately 5:45 p.m., on the TriState at Grand Avenue (near mile marker 8.) The “chain-reaction” crash involved six vehicles.
Two people had to be extricated from their vehicles. In all, eight people were injured.
Although none of the accident injuries were considered to be life-threatening in nature, one of the people injured was said to be in critical condition.
