Serious Pedestrian Injury In Woodstock

Pedestrian accidents often cause serious injuries, and, as seen in various posts on this site, have caused numerous fatalities over the last few years.

A pedestrian accident in Woodstock on Monday (December 21, 2015) morning involved serious injuries, including a concussion.

Woodstock Police responded to the accident at approximately 9:40 a.m.  A 64-year-old man had been struck by a car in the 100 block of Route 47, which is just north of East Calhoun Street on Route 47.

The man struck by the car was taken to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock for treatment of his accident injuries.  He was in serious condition.

His injuries included a concussion as well as numerous broken bones.

It may have been raining at the time of the accident.  Lack of visibility may have played a role in the cause of the accident.

The driver of the car, a 78-year-old man, was not injured during the collision.

It is unclear as to which party was at fault for this pedestrian crash.
