- An October 1, 2017 pedestrian accident in Franklin Park which led to the death of Randy I. Xitmual, 34, of Franklin Park. His injuries included head and neck injuries. - A September 15, 2017 pedestrian accident in Montgomery, seen in the September 16, 2017 Chicago Sun-Times article titled “Woman struck by vehicle, seriously injured in western suburbs.”
Another pedestrian accident happened on July 15, 2017 in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood. The man struck, Jose Rodriguez, 52, of Chicago, died from accident injuries on September 18, 2017. According to the Chicago Sun-Times article of September 20, 2017 (“Man dies 2 months after being struck by vehicle on West Side“) his accident injuries included head injuries. Head injuries are among those injuries that have been seen in fatal pedestrian accidents. Traumatic brain injuries (TBI) are often complex in nature, and can be life-threatening. For those serious brain injuries that are not fatal, treatment and rehabilitation can be a long and expensive process.
