The accident happened when three semi trucks were slowing in accordance with traffic. The driver of a van behind them failed to slow, and struck one of the trucks from behind. This caused a “chain reaction” accident, involving four vehicles.
The driver of the van, as well as two other drivers, were taken to area hospitals with what the Illinois State Police called “serious injuries.”
