Man Fatally Struck On Eisenhower Expressway

A man was fatally struck by a delivery truck late Tuesday night (January 10, 2017) on the Eisenhower Expressway.

An excerpt from the NBC Chicago article of January 11, 2017, titled “Man Struck, Killed While Trying to Change Tire on Eisenhower Expressway“:

Around 11:10 p.m., the 24-year-old had stopped on the inbound expressway near Central Avenue and exited his vehicle to work change a tire when he apparently lost something in the road, police said. When he went to retrieve it, he was hit by a delivery van, according to Illinois State Police.

The man was identified as Marcus J. Neely, 24, of Maywood.  According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, he was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

A traffic accident investigation continues.
