There was a single-vehicle car crash Wednesday night (February 1, 2017) on Chicago’s Lake Shore Drive. Three people were seriously injured in the crash.
According to Chicago Police, the accident happened at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday night, when a Honda Civic traveling southbound struck a guardrail near North Avenue.
The driver, an 18-year-old man, was pinned inside the car, and he had to be extricated by firefighters. He was then taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment of his accident injuries. He was reported to be in serious-to-critical condition.
There were two other men in the car who were also hurt in the collision. One was also taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, while the other was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center for medical treatment of injuries. Both were also in serious-to-critical condition.
The reason for the crash does not appear to be publicly disclosed at this time.
The crash investigation is being conducted by the Chicago Police Major Accidents Investigation Unit.
