There was a “wrong-way driver” involved in a fatal accident Friday night on Interstate 80 (I-80) near Morris, Illinois.
The man killed was Abed Bader, 66, of Bridgeview. He was driving home shortly after midnight when a minivan driving westbound in the eastbound lanes struck his vehicle in a “head-on” collision.
Bader’s vehicle remained on the expressway, and was subsequently hit by a semi truck between the mile markers 106 and 107.
Bader died at the accident scene.
The driver of the minivan suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital. He is said to be a 31-year-old man from Chicago.
An investigation of the accident continues.
