There was a fatal vehicle accident this morning (September 26, 2013) on Interstate 290 (I-290). According to the Illinois State Police (ISP), four people died in the accident and an additional four people were injured in this single-vehicle accident.
The accident happened at approximately 6:08 a.m., when a SUV carrying eight people was heading west on I-290, at Illinois Route 83, in Addison, Illinois.
For unknown reasons, the SUV went off the roadway, rolled down the embankment and flipped over. According to the Addison Fire Department, seven people were ejected from the SUV during the accident, and one person was trapped beneath the SUV.
Four people died at the accident scene, and four others were taken to local hospitals.
