There was a fatal two-car crash in Manhattan, Illinois this afternoon.
In this car crash, one person was declared dead at the scene of the car accident. Another person died after being taken to a hospital.
According to Illinois State Police (ISP), the accident happened as a car was heading northbound on Illinois Route 52. Shortly after 1:30 p.m., when it was near Cedar Road, the driver lost control of the car, and it collided with (got “t-boned”) by a Ford SUV traveling southbound.
One female passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The female driver of the car died after being taken to a local hospital. A second passenger in the car was also hospitalized.
The driver of the SUV, a male, was uninjured during this car crash.
According to the ISP, slippery roads were a factor in the crash.
Visibility was also said to be poor.
