Fatal SUV Crash In Chicago’s South Loop

There was a fatal car accident early Sunday morning (December 21, 2014) in Chicago’s South Loop.

Details on the crash – especially its causes – appear limited at this time.

Chicago Police arrived at the accident scene at 2:45 a.m., according to the Chicago Police Department.  The single-vehicle accident happened in the 1200 block of South Clinton Street and involved a SUV that had struck a light post, after which the SUV caught fire.

Two of the three vehicle occupants – including a 42-year-old man – died at the accident scene, and a third person was taken to Stroger Hospital for treatment of accident injuries.
