Fatal Skokie Bicycle Accident

There was a fatal bicycle accident Friday evening in Skokie.

According to Skokie Police, the accident happened at approximately 5:00 p.m. as a bicyclist was riding eastbound on Howard Street near McCormick Boulevard.  At that time, the bicyclist was struck by a semi truck that was heading in the same direction.

The bicyclist, identified as James C. Hinton, 43, of Evanston, was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston for treatment of his accident injuries.  He later died.

The accident remains under investigation.
