Fatal Pedestrian Accident On Potter Road In Park Ridge

There was a fatal pedestrian accident Wednesday (February 14, 2018) in Park Ridge.  The woman was hit by a car as she was attempting to walk south across Potter Road near Farrell Avenue.

According to Park Ridge Police, the accident happened at approximately 6:15 p.m.  Details on how the accident occurred appear limited at this time; however, Park Ridge Police say the woman was not walking in a crosswalk at the time of the accident.

The woman was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for treatment of her injuries.  According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, she died shortly before 11:00 p.m.

The woman was identified as Bina Chowdhury, 42, of Park Ridge.

The driver of the car was identified as a 31-year-old man from Chicago.

Chowdhury’s death remains under investigation by the Park Ridge police and the Major Case Assistance Team STAR unit, a multi-jurisdictional crash investigation team, authorities said.
