In this fatal Niles pedestrian accident, a SUV hit a pedestrian just north of the intersection of Greenwood Avenue and Golf Road. Police were dispatched to the accident scene at approximately 9:10 p.m.

Lisa M. Bauer, 60, of the 8600 block of Golf Road, was crossing Greenwood Avenue about 75 feet north of Golf Road as the SUV approached from the north and headed toward the left turn lane to head east on Golf Road, police said.
The 44-year-old Niles woman behind the wheel of the Mercedes told police Bauer “came out of nowhere” before the fatal collision, according to Cmdr. Robert Tornabene.
This Niles fatal pedestrian accident is being investigated by the Major Crash Assistance Team investigation. There was no indication of driver impairment.
