On Saturday (June 16, 2018) there was a pedestrian accident in Burbank, which resulted in three people being struck by a car in Burbank. At the time of the crash, three people – a 29-year-0ld mother and her 9-year-old son and 6-year-old sister – were attempting to cross the street at 86th Street and Cicero Avenue at 9:45 p.m. At that time, they were hit by a gray sedan, which then left the accident scene (i.e. the collision was a “hit & run” accident.) Some media sources indicate that at the time of the crash, the mother and her children were walking in a crosswalk.
The boy, later identified as Caleb Bell, of Chicago, died from his accident injuries. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, he was declared dead at 12:24 a.m. Sunday morning.
The mother and daughter were injured and hospitalized.
Images of the car indicate a gray, four-door car. Police say that the car likely has front-end damage. Those with information regarding the driver of the car and/or the fatal accident are asked to contact Burbank Police at 708-924-7300.
