There was a fatal vehicle collision early this morning (November 4, 2014) on the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) at the I-88 exit in Oak Brook, Illinois.
According to the Illinois State Police (ISP) the fatal crash happened at approximately 4:50 a.m., in the northbound lanes of I-294. The crash involved a vehicle driven by a 55-year-old man crashing into the back of a semi tractor-trailer.
The man died from his injuries at the accident scene.
Another driver was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downer’s Grove with accident injuries considered to be “non-life-threatening.”
As a result of the accident, all lanes were closed, but were projected to be reopened by 7:45 a.m.
