Ten people were injured during a multiple-vehicle traffic accident on the Dan Ryan Expressway this evening. According to the Illinois State Police (ISP) alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
The accident happened on the inbound Dan Ryan near 69th Street (in Chicago’s Grand Crossing neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side) at approximately 6:55 p.m. The accident involved two box trucks, and four cars. One of the cars was a limousine.
Among those ten people injured, three were seriously-to-critically hurt; another person was in fair-to-serious condition; and six people were treated on the accident scene. None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.
