CTA Bus Accident On Lake Shore Drive Injures Nine People

There was a CTA bus accident today (November 1, 2013) on Lake Shore Drive in which nine people were injured.

The accident happened as the CTA bus was heading northbound at Montrose at approximately 2:30 p.m. According to preliminary information, a vehicle ahead of the bus stopped abruptly, and the bus swerved to avoid hitting that vehicle. As a result, the CTA bus went off the roadway and hit a light pole.

Nine people were taken to local hospitals and all were reported to be in good condition.

According to a Chicago Police Officer, the No. 147 bus was full of passengers at the time of the accident.
