A bus accident occurred Wednesday (January 23, 2019) in Chicago’s Goose Island neighborhood. 16 people were injured during the collision that occurred between a CTA bus and car that had spun out after hitting a patch of ice. A vehicle was driving eastbound on Chicago Avenue when it hit a patch of ice and lost control, slamming into a westbound CTA bus, Chicago police said.
The impact of the crash caused the bus to strike a utility pole.
The driver of the car was injured and taken to Northwestern Hospital in critical condition.
All but one of the 16 people injured in the bus were taken to hospital for treatment of their accident injuries. Those injuries were considered to be non-life-threatening in nature.
