This afternoon, a car accident occurred on the Edens Expressway (I94 in Chicago) near Peterson Avenue at approximately 3:50 p.m.
The accident happened after a carjacking in Northbrook, Illinois, in the 3100 block of Dundee Road. The Northbrook and Skokie Police Departments had seven police cars chasing the carjacker until the accident occurred in the southbound lanes near Peterson Avenue, according to the Illinois State Police.
There is varying information as to how many people were injured, but it is reported that 3-4 people were injured, including the carjacker who was reported to be a male who is 42 years old.
Illinois State Police said the carjacker will face charges for the hijacking in Northbrook, and charges for a second attempted carjacking after he wrecked the first car.
