Bicyclist Injured In Elgin Accident

There was a bicycle accident last night (October 7, 2014) in Elgin, Illinois.

The accident happened at approximately 9:00 p.m., as a man – identified only as a 27-year-old Elgin resident – was struck on his bicycle.

The unidentified bicyclist was riding across traffic lanes on Summit Street near Hill Street at about 9 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle heading west on Summit, according to a police press release.

The bicyclist was taken to Presence St. Joseph Hospital with injuries considered to be life-threatening.
