Bicycle Accident Near Franklin Park, Illinois

A man has been charged in a hit & run accident in which he struck a bicyclist near Franklin Park, Illinois.

According to the Cook County Sheriff’s Police, this bicycle accident happened on Saturday (October 18, 2014) at 10 p.m., as a Ford Mustang traveling southbound (and reported to be speeding) on Mannheim struck the cyclist near Montana Avenue.

The bicyclist, identified as a 44-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The driver was identified as Emmanuel Garcia, 23, of Melrose Park.  He was charged with leaving the scene of an injury accident as well as with failing to report an injury accident.
