Bicycle Accident In Lincolnwood

There was a Chicago-area bicycle accident in Lincolnwood on Sunday night, October 3, 2015.

According to Lincolnwood Police, the accident happened at approximately 8:30 p.m., as a woman riding a bicycle eastbound on Pratt Avenue was riding across McCormick Boulevard.  She was then hit by a SUV.

At the time of the accident, the bicyclist was riding “against the red light,” according to Lincolnwood Police.

The bicyclist, identified as a 18-year-old woman, was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston for treatment of her accident injuries.  She was in critical condition.

An excerpt from the Chicago Sun-Times article of October 5, 2015, titled “18-year-old bicyclist in critical condition after Lincolnwood crash“:

“The bicyclist was dressed in dark clothing in dark conditions with limited artificial lighting,” police said.
