There has been a $3.75 million settlement of a lawsuit filed in the death of a Chicago man who was killed November 16, 2012 in a vehicle accident on Interstate 57 (I-57).
The accident, which happened on I-57 near Ludlow, Illinois, involved a man, Keith Terry Jr., 22, of Chicago, who was killed when his car was “rear-ended” by a semi truck.
An excerpt from the news-gazette.com article of June 25 titled “$3.75 million settlement reached in I-57 fatality” :
Terry was stopped in the southbound lanes due to an earlier traffic accident when a truck driven by William Michael Weaver, 53, of Lebanon, Mo., struck his four-door passenger car in the rear, pushing it into the rear of another truck tractor flatbed semi trailer driven by Michael Stephen Jackson, 33, of Yuba City, Calif., at 2:24 p.m. Nov. 16.
The truck driver, William Weaver, was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
