$2.4 Million Jury Verdict Awarded To Man Hit By City Of Chicago Truck

In the May 22, 2011 blog post (“City Truck Collision Sends 8 To Hospital In Chicago Illinois“) the May 21, 2011 accident in which eight people were injured by a City Of Chicago truck was summarized.

A $2.4 million personal injury jury verdict from that accident has been announced in the case of Stephen Dewart. Dewart was injured by the City of Chicago truck mentioned above.

Dewart suffered a shattered fibula, a shattered tibia, and four fractured vertebrae in his back.

This verdict, along with a previous $6.25 million lawsuit settlement (summarized in the December 12, 2012 post titled “City Of Chicago $6.25 Million Settlement Of Lawsuit“) brings the total lawsuit-related cost (to date) of the accident to nearly $9 million.
