There was a fatal Chicago car crash early Saturday (February 11, 2017) on Lake Shore Drive on the South Side.
According to Chicago Police, the accident involved a car colliding with a pole after leaving the roadway. The collision happened on Lake Shore Drive at approximately 2:15 a.m. in the northbound lanes, near Oakwood Boulevard.
The driver, a 24-year-old woman, died at the accident scene. A 27-year-old male passenger was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition.

Police did not release more details, but said the crash “was possibly road rage-related.” CPD’s Major Accidents Investigation Unit is handling the case.
