SUV Crash On The Eisenhower Expressway Leads To Three Fatalities

There was a fatal single-car crash early this morning (January 17, 2017) on the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) on the West Side.  Two people died in the crash, and a third person was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital.  A fourth man was critically injured.

According to the Illinois State Police (ISP) the accident happened at approximately 2:15 a.m.  For a reason currently unknown (accident reconstruction is being conducted) the driver of a Buick LaCrosse lost control of the vehicle while heading westbound.   The SUV left the expressway, drove up an embankment, and struck a utility pole in a frontal collision.

Two passengers were declared dead at the accident scene.  The were identified as Brittany Williams, 29, of Chicago; and Henry Brooks IV, 41, of Chicago.  A third occupant, Randy Ross, 42, of Chicago, was declared dead after being taken to Stroger Hospital.

The driver, identified as a 42-year-old man from Chicago, was ejected from the SUV during the crash.  He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, with injuries considered to be life-threatening in nature.

Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, police said.
