There was a car crash on the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) in Forest Park early Sunday morning (November 27, 2016). The accident involved one car “rear-ending” another and resulted in serious injuries to an infant girl, as well as unspecified injuries to two adults.
According to information provided by the Illinois State Police (ISP), the accident happened at approximately 3:20 a.m., in the eastbound lanes of the Eisenhower Expressway. At that time, a Hyundai Elantra was stopped in the right lane, with its lights off, and it was “rear-ended” by a 2001 Honda Odyssey.
Two adults were taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood for treatment of their accident injuries. Their injuries and conditions do not appear to be publicly available.
As well, a 10-month-old girl was also injured during the crash.
An excerpt from the November 27, 2016 Chicago Sun-Times article titled “Police: Infant girl on life support after I-290 crash“:
The 10-month-old girl, who was not correctly secured in a proper child safety seat inside the Hyundai, was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where she was on life support, police said.
The infant appears to have numerous serious injuries resulting from the crash. The November 28 Deerfield Patch article (“Infant on Life Support after Crash on Eisenhower Expressway“) says that these accident injuries include two broken legs, a broken arm, and a skull fracture.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
