Multi-Vehicle Accident In Chicago’s Avondale Neighborhood

There was a nine-car accident Tuesday morning (January 26, 2016) in Chicago’s Avondale neighborhood.

The accident happened at approximately 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of Pulaski and Milwaukee.

An excerpt from the WGNtv.com article (with video) of January 26, 2016, titled “3 children, 4 adults injured in Avondale car crash“:

The driver of a Dodge Caravan was driving at a high speed on W. School St. when the van sped through a stop sign.  Cars waiting at a light on Milwaukee and Pulaski didn’t see the Caravan coming.  The van sent several vehicles crashing into each other, before it slammed into the window of a liquor store.  Nine cars were involved.

Another excerpt, from the January 26 abc7chicago.com article titled “7 seriously injured, including 3 children, in fiery Northwest Side crash“:

“The car was driving from this street — I don’t know how fast he was going, some people saying 80, 90 miles an hour. It was so fast that, few seconds and it happened,” one witness said.

Three children and four adults were injured as a result of the crash.  All three children were taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for treatment of their accident injuries.  Two of the children were in critical condition.

Of the four adults, three were taken to Lutheran General and one, who was in critical condition, was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

Additional details and possible updates can be seen in a variety of media sources, including the WGNtv.com article mentioned above, the abc7chicago.com article above, and the January 26 Chicago Tribune article (with video) titled “Avondale crash injures 3 children, 4 adults.”
