Fatal September 27, 2015 Car Crash In Evanston

There was a fatal car accident early Sunday morning (September 27, 2015) in Evanston.

According to Evanston Police, the accident happened at approximately 2:20 a.m. Sunday morning, as a woman driving a 1998 Nissan northbound in the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue struck multiple cars parked on both sides of the street.  In the process of doing so, her car overturned.

The driver was identified as Monica Wallace, 42, of Evanston.  She was taken to Evanston Hospital for treatment of her accident injuries.

The passenger in the car, identified as Lamart Bailey, 45, of Evanston, was also taken to Evanston Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Monica Wallace, of the 1400 block of Brown Avenue in Evanston, is charged with felony aggravated DUI, misdemeanor DUI and traffic offenses including disobeying a red light, driving in the wrong lane, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving without insurance, police said. Wallace is schedule for an Oct. 9 hearing at the Skokie courthouse.
