There was another Chicago-area incident involving “wrong-way driving” early Friday morning, October 17, 2014. The incident happened on I-57 near 111th Street at approximately 5:45 a.m.
This “wrong-way driver” was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes, according to Illinois State Police (ISP).
The vehicle stopped after intervention by other motorists; no accident occurred.
The “wrong-way driver” was identified as Danny Sevilla, 33, an off-duty Chicago Police Officer. At the time of the incident, he was driving a 2010 Black Mitsubishi Outlander.
According to the ISP, Sevilla was charged with driving under the influence and driving the wrong way.
