An excerpt from the myfoxchicago.com article of May 5, 2014 article titled “Cops: Woman driving drunk on railroad tracks was looking for ATM” :

She failed a field sobriety test and later blew a .209 on a breathalyzer test, police said. Segura, 26, of the 8400 block of South Kenton Avenue, told the officer she “was attempting to drive to an ATM to retrieve money and that is why she was on the railroad tracks.”

An excerpt from a statement made by the Riverside Police Department Police Chief Tom Wietzel, as seen in the Chicago Sun-Times Voices article of May 5 titled “Woman driving drunk on railroad tracks tells cops she was looking for ATM” :

“The fact that this driver was so intoxicated that she would drive directly on railroad tracks believing that she was still on a roadway is simply mindboggling and shows the extent of her excessive alcohol consumption,” Weitzel said in the statement.

“The drunk driving situation … has just become simply out of control. … This needs to be addressed as a social issue and not just a law enforcement concern because motorists continue to drive drunk every single day and it is at epidemic levels on weekends.”

Additional details and possible updates concerning this Cook County driving incident can be seen in a variety of media sources, including the myfoxchicago.com and Chicago Sun-Times articles seen above.
