Fatal Crash In Schaumburg

There was a fatal vehicle accident this morning (March 31, 2014) in Schaumburg, Illinois.

According to Schaumburg Police, the accident happened at approximately 10:40 a.m., and involved a SUV and a car at the intersection of Irving Park Road and Mitchell Road.

The fatal crash happened when a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV that was traveling westbound on Irving Park Road struck the passenger side of a Chevrolet Malibu. At the time of the accident, the Chevrolet Malibu was turning left onto northbound Mitchell Road.


A passenger in the Malibu, identified as Malfalda Gallo, 77, of Schaumburg, was pronounced dead by Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office after being taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village.

Both the driver of the Malibu and the driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe, identified as 82-year-old and 78-year-old men respectively, both of Schaumburg, were also taken to Alexian Brothers.
