Yesterday afternoon, a semi jack-knifed and flipped over on Chicago’s Dan Ryan Expressway, causing major delays as Chicago Fire Department’s hazardous materials team cleaned up leaking diesel fuel.
The truck accident happened on the outbound Dan Ryan ramp near 26th Street shortly after noon.
It took workers all Sunday afternoon and into the evening before the truck was removed from the expressway around 8:15 p.m. Intermittent lane closures caused major traffic delays as the truck and its fuel were removed from the expressway.
