A woman has lost her life after a bicycling accident in downtown Chicago Friday night, according to Chicago Police.
Jacqueline Marie Michon, 25, of Chicago, was riding a bicycle downtown Friday night. At about 10:45 p.m., she rode between two vehicles stopped at a stoplight at 227 N. Wabash. One of the vehicles was a dump truck; the other was a sedan. Michon then apparently lost her balance and fell under the rear of the dump truck; she was unable to get out from under it before the light turned green. The dump truck moved forward, crushing Michon.
The truck driver stopped after being flagged down by an observer.
According to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, Michon was pronounced dead at 2:25 a.m.
The Chicago Police Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating the accident.
