6 Year Old Boy Dies After Being Run Over On South Side Of Chicago

A 6 year old boy died Friday afternoon after being run over by a pickup truck. At the time of the accident the boy was riding his bicycle on Chicago's South Side.

Details concerning the accident are limited at this time. According to Chicago Police, the bicycling accident happened around 2:20 p.m. in an alley near the 8800 block of S. Buffalo.

The pickup truck was backing up when it hit and ran over the boy.

The boy was taken to Comer Children's Hospital at the University of Chicago where he was pronounced dead.

The incident remains under investigation by Chicago Police Major Accidents Unit.

Bicyclist Killed After Being Crushed By Truck In Downtown Chicago

A woman has lost her life after a bicycling accident in downtown Chicago Friday night, according to Chicago Police.

Jacqueline Marie Michon, 25, of Chicago, was riding a bicycle downtown Friday night. At about 10:45 p.m., she rode between two vehicles stopped at a stoplight at 227 N. Wabash. One of the vehicles was a dump truck; the other was a sedan. Michon then apparently lost her balance and fell under the rear of the dump truck; she was unable to get out from under it before the light turned green. The dump truck moved forward, crushing Michon.

The truck driver stopped after being flagged down by an observer.

According to the Cook County medical examiner's office, Michon was pronounced dead at 2:25 a.m.

The Chicago Police Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating the accident.
